Grand View Public Schools in Tahlequah will be closed Thursday, Feb. 7 and Friday, Feb. 8 after flu outbreak takes out students and staff.
About 62 students and 16 staff members were out with the flu. The schools are closing as a precaution, but will be open Monday, Feb. 11.
According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health website, there have been 722 flu related hospitalizations and 17 cumulative deaths since Sept. 30, 2012.
On Sunday night a tornado went through the town of Carney. It destroyed or damaged about 40 homes. When you look out at the area there are homes in every direction that show some kind of damage. Some of the families that have lived there for 17 years and have never been through anything like this. They didn't even have enough time to get their family in the shelter.
