President Tom Riley to Assume CEO Role as Founder E. Byron Hensley Retains Chairmanship
Boston, Mass. (PRWEB) February 20, 2013
Seniorlink announced that President and COO Tom Riley is assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer. E. Byron Hensley Jr., Founder, Chairman and CEO, will continue as Chairman.
Mr. Hensley founded Seniorlink in 2000 to expand community choices for elders in need. Today, Seniorlink is helping thousands of elders and younger adults with disabilities avoid nursing facility stays and saving millions of dollars for state Medicaid programs.
Mr. Hensley and Mr. Riley began their business partnership at Mentor, which Mr. Hensley founded in 1983 to serve at-risk populations needing behavioral health and support services. Mr. Riley succeeded Mr. Hensley as CEO at Mentor in 1995 and continued to expand the business nationally. Mentor now operates in 33 states as The Mentor Network.
“A core value at Seniorlink and Caregiver Homes is Relationships because they are what enable us to function, to thrive, to heal, be comforted, and succeed,” said Mr. Hensley. “My personal and working relationship with Tom Riley has enabled us to help Seniorlink become what it is today, and I look forward to working beside Tom during Seniorlink’s continued change and growth over the next several years.”
“I have had the immense pleasure of working with Byron for almost thirty years,” said Mr. Riley. “Our business roles have always evolved, and this transition is part of the growth of Seniorlink and Caregiver Homes and our relationship with each other.”
Including his tenure at Mentor and Seniorlink, Mr. Riley has more than 30 years of leadership success in healthcare services and proprietary education. Mr. Riley will continue leading the expansion of Seniorlink and Caregiver Homes as its innovative community based model of care management gains popularity across and within states. Mr. Hensley announced the transition of the CEO role at a recent meeting of the Board, which has endorsed the change within the senior leadership team.
