Premier and Curriculum Concepts International partnership expands breadth and depth of School Specialty product offerings in early reading market
GREENVILLE, Wis. (PRWEB) February 20, 2013
School Specialty, Inc. (OTCQB: SCHSQ), a leading K-12 education company with the broadest array of products in the education market, announces a partnership between its Premier brand and Curriculum Concepts International, LLC (CCI). Through the relationship, Premier will work with CCI to bring early reading intervention and prevention programs to market. The exclusive distribution partnership could develop into a more comprehensive relationship that would include content collaboration for new products.
“Curriculum Concepts International’s passion for education and expertise in developing quality instructional programs make them a natural fit for Premier and School Specialty,” said Andreas Kaufmann, vice president of marketing at Premier, a division of School Specialty. “Our organizations will explore mutually beneficial opportunities to build innovative, vetted solutions that educators can successfully implement to improve student outcomes.”
The first product to be offered jointly by Premier and CCI is a reading intervention and prevention solution designed specifically for grades preK-2. The program, which launched last month, helps students develop critical reading skills, which have been shown to be predictive of a student’s success across subject areas, throughout grade levels and beyond academics.
“There were myriad potential partners to work with, but we chose Premier and School Specialty because of the companies’ commitment to providing inventive instructional programs and connecting educators with solutions that work,” said Reggie Powe, co-founder and CEO of CCI. “We anticipate a fruitful working relationship that highlights our organizations’ strengths and produces revolutionary products.”
“This partnership is emblematic of our ever-expanding effort to vet, procure and bring the highest-quality education products and solutions to market,” said School Specialty President and CEO Michael P. Lavelle. “We’re highly selective when choosing partners, focusing on relationships that bring the most innovative education solutions to educators and students.”
