Sooners Blow Big Lead and Get Hooked By Texas

Posted: Updated:

Lon Kruger's Sooners were primed to sweep their season series with the Texas Longhorns Wednesday night in Austin.  But the Horns rally and beat OU in overtime 92-86 in overtime.

Oklahoma had a 22-point lead with 7:54 left in the game.  Texas goes on a 17-2 run to pull within seven points.

Senior Steven Pledger started the game red hot.  He hit his first five three pointers and finished the game with 18-points.

The Sooners were led by Romero Osby with 31-points.

Texas was paced by Myck Kabongo with 31.  He hit a huge off balance shot at the buzzer to send the game into overtime tied at 77.

The momentum was all on Texas' side at that point.  They opened OT with a three.  Oklahoma pulled within one a couple of times, but could never regain the lead.

Texas wins just their fifth game in Big 12 play.  Oklahoma drops to 18-9, 9-6 in league action.  The Sooners will try to regroup Saturday at home against Iowa State.  Tip-off is set for 12:30pm
