Tulsa Looking For Defense This Spring

Posted: Updated:

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane are the first of our state teams to begin spring football.  They kicked off Tuesday afternoon at Chapman stadium.

TU is looking to build off an 11-3 season where they won their second Conference USA and Liberty Bowl Championships.

A big reason why they did so well was because they had the 25th-ranked defense in the country.  The best in C-USA.

But this season Coach Bill Blankenship will have to replace eight starters on that side of the ball.

"That's one of the keys no doubt." Blankenship said, "We come of a year where we had a great defense. Part of that is because we had a lot of senior leadership.  However we feel good about the depth, but this is why it's exciting to get out in the spring.  To see that develop and find out where the holes are and who's going to be the new faces and names."

The Golden Hurricane conclude spring workouts with the spring game Saturday, April 6th at 1:00pm.
