Family and Friends Hold Service for Murdered Will Rogers Student

Posted: Updated:

Friends and family held funeral services for 18-year-old Gabrielle "Gabby" Bledsoe Saturday. According to police, the Will Rogers High School student was stabbed to death last weekend at her home.

Loved ones held a "Celebration of Life" at Crown Hill Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Saturday. Many classmates and relatives came dressed in purple, Bledsoe's favorite color. Lacrecia Bledsoe, Gabby's mother, wore a purple bow in her hair. So many people attended that many had to stand.

Police have not yet made arrests in Bledsoe's death. Family told Channel 8 they will not succumb to hatred when it comes to who killed the teenager.

"It's all about love," said Bledsoe's great uncle, Frederick Anderson. The family is focusing on prayer to get them through this difficult time.

When asked to describe Bledsoe, her cousin Fondra Edwards said, "She's kind and she's sweet. She had a sweet personality."

Bledsoe is buried at Haskell Cemetery.
