The rumor mill is running at top speed surrounding layoffs and Spirit AeroSystems.
We're just trying to dispel this rumor because they have not notified us of a layoff.
Kaye Brewer is Vice President of UAW Local 952 and one of the ones fielding calls. We've been told they're not laying off the hourly workforce.
But there were layoffs involving salaried employees on Friday though the company would only say a small number. As for those employees, spokesman Mark Walker told us.
"We will provide a smooth and respectful transition process to the employees who will be leaving the company. Their benefit package is a personnel matter and will be handled directly with the benefits team."
