Morton Expands Medical Services

Posted: Updated:

Morton Comprehensive Health Services has a history of helping Tulsans, that dates back to the 1920's.

Now that system has expanded to a new area.

They've opened another satellite center in Southwest Tulsa.

It's located, at 4122 West 55th Place, inside the Cornerstone Community Center.

The clinic is for anyone from Sand Springs to Scapula, who's in need of care.

Morton offers a long list of primary medical and dental services, regardless of your financial status.

Morton Communications Director, Jerry Goodwin, says they take people who are insured, under insured and uninsured.

He also says that the satellite centers started as an effort, to reach people who can't get to their main campus on the north side.

Nurse Practitioner Lindsey Groves says they do a lot of work with chronic medical issues like diabetes and high blood pressure.

She says it's gratifying because they can often help to change lives, by encouraging people to do things like improve their diets.

She also says it's good to work with people, who really need and appreciate the help.

Tulsan L.C. McLaughlin says Morton has saved his life twice in the last 5years.

The first time, was a serious lung infection and most recently they've helped him with high blood pressure.

He says Morton provides huge benefits to Southwest Tulsa, because its a poor area and a lot of his neighbors don't have transportation.

The new clinic is open Monday from 9:00 to 1:00, Tuesday afternoon and Friday from 9:00 to 1:00.

They expect to expand their hours, as soon as more people get acquainted with their services.
