South Tulsa -

Several area hotels were cooking up for a good cause, Thursday Night.

It was all a part an annual fundraising event for the Metro Tulsa Hotel and Lodging Association at the Renaissance Hotel in South Tulsa.

Eleven Tulsa-area hotels participated in the event by having their chef's face-off in a cooking competition where their culinary creations were later judged.

Organizer Michelle Hartman tells KTUL.com, the event helps raise funds for scholarships for hotel and restaurant education programs. She adds that they "need professionals in the hotel industry...our industry is lacking good professionals and that education programs through Tulsa Tech and T.C.C. and O.S.U. help students to come into our industry and be successful professionals."

Hartman estimates the event helps raise about $6,000 dollars towards the scholarships.

Also in attendance was Tulsa's Channel 8 anchor and "Good Day Tulsa" Host, Laura Moss. Laura helped judge the entries of the hotel chefs.
