A Sallisaw woman pleaded not guilty Wednesday after she was arrested on complaints of trying to sell her two children on Facebook.

Misty VanHorn, 22, appeared in a Sequoyah County court room Wednesday on charges of "trafficking in children." During her appearance she pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Channel 8 previously reported on VanHorn earlier this week when authorities discovered she reportedly contacted an acquaintance in Fort Smith on Facebook to sell her 2-year-old and 10-month-old. She was asking $1,000 for her 2-year-old and $4,000 for both children.

Police said the Fort Smith woman notified the Oklahoma Department of Human Services - which then notified Sallisaw police who arrested VanHorn Wednesday. The acquaintance said VanHorn was reportedly trying to raise the money to bail her boyfriend out of jail.

Officials at the Sequoyah County Jail told KTUL.com that VanHorn is still in custody at the jail. Her bond has been set at $40,000.

She is due is court later this month.
