Plenty of Saint Patrick's Day Celebrations in Tulsa Area

Posted: Updated:

It's that time of the year again for Tulsans to pull out their favorite green attire and accessories and head outside for St. Patrick's Day.

Whether you're young or old, Tulsa has plenty of activities for family, friends and residents to enjoy the holiday celebrating St. Patrick and Irish culture in general. From food trucks to live music and more than enough green beer to go around, you're sure to have a good time Saturday and Sunday.

So here's the scoop on what you and your loved ones can do this weekend:

Claremore: Are you and your family ready to get out of the house? Looking to celebrate a day early? Head on into Claremore for their annual St. Paddy's Day Party in Downtown. Just head on over to Main Street near Will Rogers Boulevard anytime Friday for food, drinks and live music from local artists. Adults can also choose to head back to Main Street for a night party happening through 9 p.m. More information can be found at their Facebook event page.

Runners: Those just really excited or wanting to burn some calories before heading out to the bars later can sign up for the annual St. Patrick's Day Run happening at 8:30 a.m. on Brookside. RunnersWorld Tulsa is hosting the event and registration costs $30 with all proceeds going to Special Olympics Oklahoma and Tulsa Running Club. Runners can choose between a 1-mile run, 5k run or a costume contest during the event. More info can be found at their website. http://www.sook.org/st-patricks-5k.html

Oklahoma City: Tulsans wanting to head down south to Oklahoma City can hit up the Saint Patrick's Day Parade beginning at 1 p.m. in Downtown. Family and friends can view the colorful parades and live music proceeding through the streets through the afternoon.

Bluedome Celebrations: If you're more comfortable staying in Tulsa and hitting up your favorite bars, no worries! The Blue Dome District is back with their St. Patrick's Day Celebrations beginning at 10 a.m. on 2nd and Elgin. McNellie's and Arnie's Bar will host the event with more than enough events. From Andolini's food truck to live music from local artists and plenty of beer to go around. The celebration of Irish culture goes through the evening.

Cherry Street: If Downtown isn't your scene, just hit up Cherry Street where Kilkenny's will hold their own St. Patricks Day celebration beginning at noon until midnight. Tulsans can head to Cherry Street for more than enough food and drink to go around.
