Police announced Thursday morning that the vehicle of a man killed earlier this month was discovered and are continuing their investigation into the homicide.

Robert Sampson, 55, was found dead in his home March 14. His vehicle has been missing since late February or early March. Since his death Tulsa Police have been searching for the SUV in relation to the homicide investigation.

According to a release from TPD's Dave Walker, officers were called to the 1500 block of S. Guthrie to "check a vehicle parked along the street for an extended period of time."

Officers were able to determine that the 1998 Ford Explorer found belonged to Sampson. It was taken from the scene and forensics will process it for evidence.

The homicide unit is also looking for Edward John Vanwoudenberg for questioning about the murder and the missing vehicle, according to a release sent out earlier this week.

Vanwoudenberg is transient and has been seen in West Tulsa and the Oakhurst area.

Vanwoudenberg has an outstanding municipal misdemeanor warrant and possibly stays in transient camps along the Arkansas River.

Anyone with information on Vanwoudenberg's location please call Crime Stoppers 918 596 2477 or the Homicide Tip Line 918 798-8477
