McKissock Rolls Out NJREC-Approved Correspondence Courses for NJ Real Estate Pros

Warren, PA (PRWEB) March 21, 2013

In response to recent changes in continuing education requirements, Pennsylvania-based McKissock LP has started offering correspondence courses to New Jersey real estate professionals. McKissock is the only real estate education provider in New Jersey approved to offer the required classes in correspondence format, and the only provider to offer the required courses in all four approved formats: online, live/seminars, webinars, and correspondence.

Due to new adopted Rule N.J.A.C. 11:5-2, the New Jersey Real Estate Commission (NJREC) requires twelve hours of continuing education by April 30th as a condition of real estate license renewal. Correspondence is one of four methods of real estate continuing education approved by NJREC and McKissock is the only provider in the state approved to offer courses by correspondence. “We developed this method because we feel that correspondence offers greater flexibility in completing state education requirements. In particular, correspondence is well suited to real estate professionals’ busy lifestyles. Having a physical copy of the coursework truly allows you to complete continuing education anywhere, at any time—even at an open house,” says Tyler Duncan, VP of Real Estate Education for McKissock. The correspondence format is new to New Jersey real estate, but it is an approved method of continuing education for real estate professionals in nineteen other states.

In mid-February, McKissock sent physical copies of their approved correspondence textbooks to every real estate licensee in the state of New Jersey. To complete continuing education requirements by correspondence, real estate professionals must read the textbook containing the commission-approved courses, take the associated quizzes online or by mail, and print their certificate. In addition to the paperback editions sent in February, McKissock also offers the textbook in PDF and e-reader formats. The courses included in the textbooks and their corresponding NJREC approval numbers are:

  •     Code of Ethics (three-hour core) – Approval # C20160896
  •     Fair Housing (three-hour core) – Approval # C20160807
  •     Short Sales (three-hour elective) – Approval # C20160818
  •     Liens, Taxes & Foreclosures (three-hour Elective) – Approval # C20160824

At this time, McKissock only offers correspondence courses for New Jersey real estate agents and brokers, but they intend on offering this method in other states based on the success of the initiative and the value that it provides to their customers.
