Funerals Set for Former Oklahoma Quarterback, Tulsa Businessman

Memorial services are planned for Monday for the two Oklahoma men who died after their plane crashed into an Indiana neighborhood.

Former Oklahoma quarterback Steve Davis and Tulsa businessman Wes Caves died in the March 17 plane crash. Two others on the plane were injured along with one person on the ground.

Separate services are planned for 1 p.m. Monday. Davis' funeral will be held at First Baptist Church in Tulsa, while Caves' memorial will be held at First Baptist Church in Jenks.

Channel 8's Yvonne Lewis spoke to Bill Christiansen of Christiansen Aviation who remembers Steve Davis and Wes Caves.

"Wes was also a pilot and the airplane they had was a pure jet, a corporate jet, a Beech Premier and he'd flown that airplane for probably a year or so, I think," says Christiansen.

Steve Davis while known on the football field was also known in the aviation industry.

"Yeah he was a pilot, has owned airplanes over the years. I don't think he currently owned an airplane. Yes, he was a pilot and a good pilot too. He flew some technically advanced planes, multi-engine aircraft over the years.

Federal investigators say the plane attempted to land twice at South Bend Regional Airport before crashing into a neighborhood.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
