Police are continuing their investigation into a homicide Wednesday afternoon after one man was found dead in a north Tulsa neighborhood.

Tulsa Police were assigned to the 3300 block of North Garrison just after 7:30 a.m. Wednesday after they received word of a possible homicide. That's just north of the Gilcrease Expressway and south of 36th St. North.

At the scene, police and emergency crews found that 32-year-old Anthony Campbell was shot outside of his house. Officers believe that he was taking out the trash when he was confronted by a black male wearing a black hat and black-hooded sweatshirt.

According to the release from the detective's division, "words were exchanged and gunfire erupted." The man suspected of shooting Campbell then fled the scene in what they believe was a small tan SUV type vehicle.

Investigators are still at the scene but still have no other information to provide at this moment. They also are not sure whether Campbell knew the man who shot him or not.
