An 18-year-old Bartlesville High School student was taken into custody this week after police found a machete in his pickup truck at the school.

Johnathan Hubler was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon on school property for an incident that took place on April 4 at Bartlesville High School. The weapon was a machete encased in a black sheath.

According to an affidavit, it was discovered that Hubler brought the machete and parked at the high school before entering for class. At the school he called his mother and told her that he planned to take the machete and "go to the Police Department and start killing police officers."

Hubler was taken into protective custody and his vehicle was searched after his father arrived to pick up the truck. At the school parking lot, police and his father searched for the machete and found behind the back seat of the truck.

According to court documents, the machete was identified as a Gerber Bear Gryller Machete.

Hubler is now being held on $30,000 bond. He is due back in court May 3.
