Sheriff Lifts Outstanding Municipal Warrants Jail Restrictions

Posted: Updated:

The Tulsa County Jail has lifted restrictions for individuals with outstanding municipal warrants, April 18.

Earlier on Thursday, the City of Tulsa allowed individuals with outstanding municipal warrants to add their cases to the Municipal Court dockets rather than turn themselves into the David L. Moss Center.

Since then, Sheriff Stanley Glanz made the decision to return the jail to regular operations. "Failure to Pay" or "Failure to Appear" warrants will be issued.

The Sheriff's Office were able to decrease the jail's population by over 250 inmates, reducing the population to 1725 inmates. The jail continues to exceed its maximum capacity of 1714 inmates.

According to Glanz, the jail operations are "efficient enough and that the numbers have come down enough to add municipal prisoners back into the facility."
