CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Officials with the Charleston Fire Department have released the funeral arrangements for former department Chief Thomas Carr.

A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, April 28, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Stuhr's Funeral Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, in West Ashley.

The funeral service will be held Monday, April 29, at 2 p.m. at St. Michael's Episcopal Church located at Meeting and Broad Streets in downtown Charleston.

After the service, there will be a procession of fire trucks and department vehicles to escort Chief Carr's ashes from St. Michael's Church to Magnolia Cemetery with the burial immediately following.

Departments that would like to send apparatus or emergency vehicles to participate in the procession is asked to contact Battalion Chief Mark Davis via email at davism@charleston-sc.gov by 5 p.m., Saturday, April 27th. All emergency services personnel attending the visitation or the services to wear their Class A Uniform.

Vehicles in the procession will assemble at or near St. Michael's Church.

Departments that are sending personnel, without apparatus, to the service on Monday should contact Department Secretary Pam Blevins via email at blevinsp@charleston-sc.gov by 5 p.m., Saturday, April 27th.

"The Charleston Fire Department would like to thank the community and the fire service for all of the heartfelt condolences and support," said Fire Marshall Mike Julazadeh in a release, "The Carr family is very appreciative of the outpouring."
