Skylar Diggins Arrives In Tulsa

Posted: Updated:

The Tulsa Shock's newest first-round draft pick, point guard Skylar Diggins, is now officially a Tulsa resident.

Diggins, who attended the University of Notre Dame, arrived in Green Country today for the Shock's training camp, which begins on Sunday afternoon.

She is excited about starting her WNBA career, and feels the Shock have what it takes to get to next level.  "I'm surrounded by a really young, talented group of players," Diggins says.  "I'm surrounded by great shooters and athleticism, so I think we can be an exciting team and push the ball and score early in the shot clock."

Her first game with the Shock will be an exhibition at home against Atlanta on May 9.  The start of the regular season comes away from the BOK Center, on May 25 at Atlanta.  The 2013 home opener will be May 27 vs. Washington.
