A Broken Arrow man is facing numerous charges after he held police at bay following a six hour standoff, Sunday Night.
Officers say they responded to a domestic disturbance call near 193rd East Avenue and 61st Street around 4:30 Sunday afternoon.
Police say John Pruner, 32, held his wife and toddler hostage inside the home. Police say Pruner threatened to "kill everyone in the residence" if officers did not leave.
According to a report issued by Broken Arrow Police, Monday Morning, the victim informed officers that Pruner physically and sexually assaulted her while he held a handgun in one hand and refused to allow her or the toddler to leave.
Eventually the wife was able to escape the residence, the toddler was released a short time later.
Around 10:15pm, officers forced their way into the residence and took Pruner into custody.
Pruner was taken to an are hospital for evaluation following the standoff. Police say Pruner had numerous weapons inside the home at the time.
The female victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation. According to police, the toddler showed no sign of physical injury.
During the standoff, neighbors in the area were evacuated. "They evacuated us from our house because the individual could have armor piercing rounds and the bullets could travel through the house," said Kyle Stett.
When asked to describe his neighbor, Stett said, "he likes to sit in a lawn chair at the top of his driveway and just stare at you as you drive by, it's kind of an eerie feeling, didn't' know if he was all there or not really."
Pruner is facing charges of domestic assault and battery (strangulation), assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping and first degree rape.
