Update:

Police have released the name of the boy killed while riding his bike in Cullman Thursday.

Jeremiah Lee Harville, 6, died at Cullman Regional Medical Center after being struck by a vehicle at around 5:30 p.m. along Timberlane Drive SE in the Carroll Acres subdivision, Assistant Chief Craig Green with the Cullman Police Department confirmed to ABC 33/40 Friday.

No charges are expected to be filed as police continue to investigate the incident as a traffic accident. Witnesses reported the driver of the car going well-below the posted speed limit.

Harville was a first-grader at Cullman City Primary.

A 6-year-old boy died Thursday evening after being struck by a car while riding his bike in Cullman.

The accident happened in the Carroll Acres subdivision at around 5:30 p.m., the Cullman Times reports.

The victim was taken to Cullman Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving, the coroner confirmed to ABC 33/40. The child's identity is being withheld until all family members have been notified.

The incident is being investigated as a traffic accident and no charges are expected to be filed at this time.
