Sooners Win Again At Big 12 Tournament

Posted: Updated:

Max White had three hits and scored twice and Oklahoma got its second straight shutout at the Big 12 tournament, beating Texas Tech 8-0 Friday.

After ace Jonathan Gray's three-hit shutout Thursday, the Sooners (38-19) got a combined four-hitter from Dillon Overton (9-2), Ralph Garza Jr. and Kindle Ladd to beat the eighth-seeded Red Raiders (25-30).

Colt Bickerstaff had an RBI single in the fourth for the only scoring before Oklahoma scored two runs in the eighth and five in the ninth.

Dominic Moreno (3-4) gave up two runs in seven-plus innings for Tech. He was chased from the game after White singled and scored an unearned run in the eighth. Anthony Hermelyn's sacrifice fly made it 3-0.

Matt Oberste and Kolbey Carpenter each had two RBIs for the Sooners.

With the win, Oklahoma improves to 2-0 in Big 12 Tournament play - the best record of the field.  Their final pool-play game will be against top-seed Kansas State.  That game is scheduled for a 12:30 PM start on Saturday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
