Governor Mary Fallin makes a special proclamation to honor a former Beatle's visit to Tulsa.
Wednesday, May 29th, is officially known as Sir Paul McCartney Day statewide. The honor is bestowed as McCartney returns to play the BOK Center in a special two-night show.
His "Out There" world tour will wrap up in Tulsa. A second performance was added when the first show sold out in a matter of minutes.
The proclamation is one of several special honors for McCartney. BOK Center staffers arranged to have the streets around the arena renamed. The temporarily renaming includes Abbey Road (3rd Street), Penny Lane (Denver Ave.) Blackbird Blvd (1st Street) and All Together Crossing (Frisco).
This is McCartney's 2nd trip to Tulsa. He's here to commemorate the arena's 5th anniversary. He also headlined the 1st anniversary concert in 2009.
