A man has been hospitalized following a high speed chase that wound through a South Tulsa neighborhood, Saturday night.

A Tulsa County Sheriff's Deputy attempted to pull the suspect over on a routine traffic stop near 51st St. South and Peoria Ave. just before nine p.m. The suspect then took off, leading police on a brief high-speed chase down neighborhood streets. At times, speeds reached upwards of 70-miles per hour.

The suspect finally crashed near 59th Street South and Yorktown Avenue. He then fled on foot into neighboring backyards. He was later tracked down by a Tulsa Police K-9 Unit.

Corporal Jay Estes with the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office said, the suspect is facing several charges including felony eluding and resisting arrest. Estes says the suspect was transported by EMSA to an area hospital to be checked out for injuries sustained while fleeing from police.
