A Tulsa man is behind bars, accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in his care over the weekend.

Police were called to a home in the 1800 block of N. Utica around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, and when they arrived, the teenager told detectives she was given brandy and raped by 31-year-old Joseph Medina.

Two days later, authorities arrested Medina on charges of first-degree rape and marijuana possession at a Tulsa hotel.

During his arrest, officers could smell marijuana smoke coming from the hotel room and found pot in the end table next to the bed, where he was the sole occupant, TPD said.

He is being held in the Tulsa Co. Jail on bonds totaling more than $50,000.
