Vinita Plaza To Be Demolished Tuesday

Posted: Updated:

An iconic turnpike stop will be turned to rubble Tuesday morning.  Crews will demolish the Vinita Service Plaza.

It will happen between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.  Officials shut down the plaza in early June and will be closed for about a year.

During that time, there will be no rest stops on the Will Rogers Turnpike between Tulsa and the Missouri State line.  A larger convenience store, new restrooms, a McDonald's, and a Subway restaurant will be added.
