Tulsa drivers are enjoying the lowest gas prices in the country, according to AAA.

At about $3.02 per gallon today, Tulsa has the lowest citywide average price for self-serve regular gasoline of all major metro cities in the nation.

All of QuikTrip’s Tulsa locations are now selling gas for less than $3 per gallon.

Oklahoma City’s average price for self-serve regular is quite a bit higher, now at about $3.24, so July 4th travelers would do well to time their fuel purchases for when they’re in Tulsa.

Today’s Oklahoma statewide average price is $3.295.

“The national average may continue to drift lower in the coming days, especially as prices in the Midwest and Great Lakes retreat from near-historic highs,” said Chuck Mai, spokesman for AAA Oklahoma. “Gasoline supplies are reported to be at their highest levels in more than two decades for this time of year, and demand remains relatively weak.”
