Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials identified a 33-year-old suspect wounded during an officer-involved shooting Tuesday morning.

Troopers stated that Kermit Lee Farrish sustained a gun shot wound to an extremity after "attempting to take the trooper's weapon during a brief scuffle." The incident happened around 1 a.m. near I-44 and Garnett Rd. in Tulsa.

According to a release, the trooper was trying to take Farrish into custody, which led to his gun being taken during a scuffle under the I-44 bridge. The trooper was able to get the gun back and then shot Farrish, who was able to get away and drive to the Executive Inn nearby, where he called 911.

OHP arrived on scene and arrested Farrish. They are continuing their investigation.

One passenger in the suspect vehicle took off on foot and has not yet been found. He is described as being a black male in his 20's or 30's.

Farrish was released from an area hospital Wednesday morning and booked into the Tulsa County jail on charges including felony assault and battery on a police officer.
