Stolen Q-Tips Lead Police to Hidden Drugs, Police Say

Posted: Updated:

Officers arrested a 21-year-old Bixby man on possession of controlled drug substances over the weekend after he reportedly confessed to keeping it in his underwear.

Bixby Police placed Joshua Booth in custody last weekend on possession of controlled drug substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a surety bond the following day.

Tulsa's Channel 8's community newspaper partner, the Bixby Bulletin, reported that police were called to an address where the suspect was being held in custody. When they arrived on the scene, officers were told that there were five suspects, including Booth, who were concealing objects who had left the store without paying.

Officers discovered a package of Q-Tips in Booth’s rear pocket and were told that the Q-Tips were stolen. Booth's booking report stated that officers asked Booth if he had anything illegal on his person.

“Booth initially stated no” said the report, “but advised he had methamphetamine stuffed in his underwear. Booth pulled out a clear  plastic container containing paraphernalia and a clear plastic baggy containing a crystal-like substance.”

Officers field-tested the substance which test presumptive positive.

Booth was arrested and transported to David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center.
