Fairmont Terrace: Attorney Points to New Suspects in Murders

Tulsa -

The defense attorney for 1 of 2 brothers accused of shooting four women to death in January says he plans to call witnesses at a Monday preliminary hearing whose testimony will point to other suspects in the killings.

John Echols told The Associated Press on Thursday that his client, Cedric Poore, had nothing to do with the killings of 23-year-old twins Rebeika Powell and Kayetie Melchor, 33-year-old Misty Nunley and 55-year-old Julie Jackson.

The four were found tied up and shot in the head.

Poore has pleaded not guilty. His brother, James Poore, has also been charged in the deaths and has pleaded not guilty.

Authorities believe the brothers robbed the women at a rundown apartment complex, then killed them because they feared they would be identified.
