Tulsa Mother Charged with Manslaughter After Baby Drowns in Bathtub
A south Tulsa mother was formally charged this week with one count of second degree manslaughter after her infant drowned in a bathtub.
State prosecutors charged Makayla Linay Rhotenberry with second-degree manslaughter Tuesday. She turned herself into Tulsa Police after a warrant was issued for her arrest.
According to court documents, Rhotenberry allegedly left her 13-month-old baby in a bathtub filled with water and left the room "failing to provide proper supervision to said baby." Her baby drowned while being left alone in the tub and died two days later.
Rhotenberry is now out on $25,000 bond. She is due in court next week.
