A 23-year-old woman was found dead inside an East Tulsa apartment, Friday afternoon.

According to homicide investigators, Ashley Brizendine was found not breathing inside an apartment. Emergency responders attempted to resuscitate Brizendine, but she could not be revived.

Inside the apartment were two toddlers, an infant and the suspect.

23-year-old Brian Harris was questioned and further investigation revealed enough probable cause to arrest him for first-degree murder.

According to Harris' booking report, Harris stated "...that he and Brizendine got into an altercation and things went too far."

Harris told detectives that he and the victim were in a physical fight when he grabbed her by the shirt and they both fell to the floor. Harris pinned Brizendine's arms to the floor and that he grabbed her by the neck and strangled her.

According to the report, Harris saw that Brizendine was unresponsive and attempted CPR.

Brizendine and Harris shared the apartment with their three children.

Harris was booked on first-degree murder charges.
