New young professionals group for Birmingham library

Posted: Updated:

The Birmingham Public Library Young Professionals (BPLYP)  will host a social event Thursday to raise money for the library.  The group is a new support group for the library made up of young professionals 25-40 who live and work in the metro area.  The young professionals promote service projects, cultural events and library programs through fund raisers just like this one.

This is the BPLYP's first fundraiser, and it takes place Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Avondale Brewing Company located at 201 41st Street South. You can get tickets online for $20.  If you decide to purchase them at the door the cost is $25. You will get one free Avondale brew and food from Saw's Soul Kitchen with each ticket.  You will also be entered to win a gift basket.

If you are interested in becoming a BPLYP member, there are still a few seats left.  You can go to http://www.bplonline.org/yp/ for more information or to fill out an application.
