The preliminary hearing for two brothers accused of a quadruple murder at the Fairmont Terrace Apartments earlier this year continued Tuesday morning.
The state continued to present witnesses, with 24-year-old Deandre Jones taking the stand.
Jones is the brother of Jamila Jones, the girlfriend of James Poore, who, along with his brother Cedric, is accused of murdering four women at the apartment in January.
Deandre Jones, who suffers from a serious vision problem that prevents him from seeing more than a several feet in front of him, testified that he was staying at Fairmont Terrace at the time of the murders.
He said that on the morning of the murders, he heard one brother say to another, "Are you ready to hit this lick?" which he believed to mean a robbery.
When asked by the defense if he ever physically saw Cedric, Deandre responded no.
Deandre testified that he then left to pay his cell phone bill, and when he returned, he saw all of the emergency responders at the complex.
Deandre also testified that he and others in the apartment were regular marijuana users and that his sister was also doing some prescription drugs and "ice," a form of meth. He also said that Jamila was upset about being called a thief the night before the murders.
Cedric Poore's attorney continued to cross examine Deandre Jones after the lunch recess.
Defense attorney John Echols questioned if Deandre had been told by the prosecution on what to say. Jones denied the claim and the judge asked Echols to move on from the question.
Echols asked if Jones was worried for his sister, Jamila Jones, who is James Poore's girlfriend. Jones stated that he was worried for her.
The defense then asked Jones about overhearing a phone conversation with James, who had allegedly stated he need to move around.
Jones testified that he remembers hearing a phone conversation, but did not know what it was about.
James Poore, 32, is charged with four counts of first-degree murder, three counts of robbery with a firearm and one count of shooting with intent to kill.
Cedric Poore, 39, is also charged with four counts of first-degree murder, two counts of robbery with a firearm and one count of possession of a firearm.
Both have pleaded not guilty.
Due to scheduling conflicts, court will reconvene Sept. 9.
