Police: Cigarette Ash Causes Drunk Man To Crash Car

Posted: Updated:

An alleged intoxicated driver tells police his cigarette ash is to blame for an early-morning crash.

Police got the call Thursday on Skelly Drive near the Highway 75 and Interstate 44 interchange.

They found an SUV off the right side of the road in the trees and tall grass.

The driver told police he was smoking, and part of the lit cigarette hit his leg, causing him to lose control.

Police later arrested the man on suspicion of DUI and took him to the Tulsa County Jail.
