Many traffic signals are down across the Tulsa area Wednesday morning as utility crews work to restore electricity following damaging overnight storms.

According to Tulsa Police, many traffic signals are out and drivers are asked to use caution as they navigate through town.

Crews are working to place stop signs in the affected intersections, but until then, drivers should proceed as if darkened intersections are four-way stops.

The Tulsa Fire Department and public works crews are working to remove tree limbs and debris strewn across roads.

According to Dan Crossland, Streets & Stormwater Dept Director, 31st from South Utica to Lewis is closed due to downed power lines.

36th Street east of Lewis is also blocked by power lines.

Mayor Dewey Bartlett has planned a 9:30 a.m. news conference at City Hall to update the community about storm recovery and safety issues.
