Tulsa Realtors Stuff Backpacks for Children

Posted: Updated:

Local realtors gathered Monday morning to stuff several backpacks for needy children with necessary back to school items.

Members of the Greater Tulsa Association of Realtors filled the 360 backpacks at their east Tulsa offices. Some of the items included ranged from school supplies to tennis shoes and uniforms.

According to a release, this year the organization "raised over $18,000" and will be giving out the backpacks for the children at a pizza party later this week. Recipients are chosen through the help of Family and Children's Services.

"In the last seven years, The Greater Tulsa Association of Realtors has raised over $85,000 to provide backpacks filled with basic essentials to 1,500 + deserving children."

Those selected will receive the backpacks at the pizza party Thursday afternoon.
