Lots of dirt and several bulls can be found in downtown Tulsa this weekend along with support of a Tulsa charity.
Officials with the 2013 Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series gathered Thursday morning at the BOK Center. This is the event's ninth year in Tulsa and now supporting "Turn Tulsa Pink."
According to a press release, August 15-17 will be proclaimed "PBR Weekend" in Tulsa. Mayor Dewey Bartlett's wife, Victoria, was on hand to help deliver the proclamation.
Event-goers will see the top 35 bull riders and the fiercest bulls at the BOK Center this weekend. And of this year's event, the PBR has awarded more than $1.2 million in prize money in Tulsa.The bull riding action begins at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16 and Saturday, Aug. 17. Tickets, starting as low as $15, can be purchased at www.bokcenter.com.
While the main roads in Jenks and communities around the area were, for the most part, clear with few hazards for drivers Monday, the side streets were still iced over from the snowfall of the past week. This left the streets slick and unsafe, leading many schools to close.More >>
