A 17-year-old male has been charged as an adult in connection with a shooting at gas station in Anniston last week, ABC 33/40 reporter Robert Richardson has learned.

Quindarious Malik Sterling has been charged with attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied building for a double shooting at the Shell gas station on Quintard Avenue on Aug. 16.

Sterling, who will turn 18 years old in two weeks, was allegedly involved in an altercation with a 23-year-old man in the parking lot of the gas station around 6 p.m. before pulling a gun and firing several shots.

The man he was fighting was shot and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 20-year-old female, who was standing inside the store during the shooting, was grazed by a stray bullet that had shattered through the glass entrance of the gas station.

Sterling is currently being held in the Calhoun County Jail. It is unknown at this time if he has an attorney.
