Former Pawnee Teacher and Girls Basketball Coach Jeff Tatum is not currently facing charges, after allegations of sexual misconduct.
Pawnee District Attorney Rex Duncan said there is currently no physical evidence. He said the allegations are three years old and the alleged victim is not the person who reported the concerns. Also, he said Tatum has not confessed.
"If at some point I have evidence, something that would help us make a charging decision, then that my change," Duncan said.
The Pawnee School Superintendent said "no comment" about the lack of charges. He said the school recommended Tatum's dismissal April 9th.
The Department of Education confirmed that Tatum willingly gave up his teaching certificate in June. A spokesperson said there is no time frame for reapplication. People that have felonies must wait 10 years before reapplying.
Channel 8 stopped by Tatum's house Thursday but he was not home.
OSBI could not share any additional information about the case. Public Information Officer Jessica Brown said the agent investigating the case gave it back to the district attorney's office May 31st of this year.
Residents around Pawnee declined to share their reactions to the news.
