Work complete on Mountain Brook Municipal Complex

Posted: Updated:
MOUNTAIN BROOK-AL -

After several delays, work is finally finished on the Mountain Brook Municipal Complex. Sunday, the mayor and city council cut the ribbon on the buildings.

The city council chamber still serves as a courtroom. But the mayor now has an office.

Police, firefighters and city leaders actually moved into complex back in April. But there was still work to be done, so the ribbon ceremony was postponed.

"I think everybody is real proud of it," said Mayor Terry Oden. "We want it to be functional and yet to be in keeping with the old English tradition of the City of Mountain Brook."

Demolition on the old city hall and construction of the new complex took two years to complete.
