Store Clerk Gets Duped, Cash Stolen

Posted: Updated:

Tulsa Police look for two suspects after they trick a store clerk and make off with cash Monday morning.

The armed robbery happened around 4 a.m.  at the EZ Mart on 37th Street and Memorial.  The victim tells police a man came up to the store's walk-up window begging for help and police assistance.  When the clerk went to open the door, he was rushed by the suspect and another man.  The two implied they had guns and hit the clerk over the head with something.  The men slammed the register until open and made off with the money.

Police are warning residents to never open your door for someone claiming they need help because it is a ploy for an easy way in.  They suggest communicating through a closed and locked window or door.  Tell them you will call the police that way.

TPD used a K-9 unit to search the area for the suspects.  If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
