Mayes Co. Sheriff: Woman Slips Out of Cuffs, Takes Off Running

A Tulsa woman was able to slip out of her handcuffs and take off running from authorities in Mayes County this afternoon.

According to Mayes Co. Sheriff Mike Reed, 28-year-old Lorian Lemley had just been sentenced to 30 days in jail for failing to complete her community service on a misdemeanor charge around 2 p.m. Monday when she slipped out of her handcuffs and ran away.

Lemley was being walked back from the courthouse to the jail by deputies, who couldn't leave the other prisoners to go after her, Reed said.

Deputies searched the area for about an hour with no luck. They have a presence in the area in case she shows up.

Reed said Lemley does not pose a risk and is not believed to be dangerous.

She is described as a thin white female with blonde hair. Reed said she lives somewhere in the Tulsa area.
