Think of it as speed-dating, but for parents seeking potential babysitters.

Oral Roberts University's fourth annual "Nanny Fair" saw a fairly large turnout at the Mabee Center on Tuesday evening.

The event, which is typically held just once a year, is designed to help network parents with student-nannies at the University.

Organizers say the connection is a win-win for both parties, particularly students.

"It gives them job opportunities throughout the year," explained ORU alum Allison Jones. "It also gives them their first step in professional development."

For parents, the benefit is knowing the potential babysitters are vetted by ORU, "so they feel like they're getting a high-quality student," Jones said.

The event gave both potential nannies and parents 90 seconds to give their pitch, including skills and past experience.

Afterwards, parents are given a "master list" of students who are available to nanny or babysit.

If parents were not able to make the event, they can contact ORU for a copy of the "master list" and connections to babysitters.
