A Tulsa man is behind bars after police say he shot a person and pistol-whipped his mother.

It happened around 5:45 p.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of W. Archer.

According to police, 22-year-old Cody Trisler got mad at his roommate over alleged stolen property.

The two got into an argument and during that time, police said Trisler got a small-caliber pistol and shot his roommate in the leg.

When his mom confronted him about it, he hit her several times with the pistol, police said.

He had also told his mother he was going to kill her, police said, and they found her with visible injuries.

Trisler reportedly ran from the area before cops arrived, but was tracked down soon after.

Trisler was booked into the Tulsa Co. Jail on charges of shooting with intent to kill, assault & battery with a deadly weapon and threatening a violent act.

He has previous felony convictions and has a $200,000 bond.
