Area Lakes, Businesses Ready for Labor Day Weekend Visitors
Area lakes in Green Country and around Oklahoma are busy this Labor Day weekend with plenty of people taking to the water.
Plenty of boats are out, tents are raised and there are few complaints about the weather out on Keystone Lake. And while some are seasoned area lake-goers, others are brand new - to the lake at least.
"Whenever we go camping, our motto is our kids can get as dirty as they want," new Oklahoma resident Preston Chacon said. "And they usually do."
And for one lake business, that relaxed attitude is what Labor Day weekend is all about.
"It's been cooler and we've had a lot more rain so the lake's obviously been way high," Pier 51 Marina's Bethanie Baird.
Those lake conditions combined with the weather are the recipe for an appealing getaway. Baird added that this holiday weekend almost always means a spike in business for the marina, but this time around it has been especially busy.
"I think it's because the lake is back to normal finally," Baird said. "So everyone has been coming out and its been great weather."
