The Chief of Police in Beggs has bonded out of a Cherokee Co. jail following his arrest on several charges over Labor Day weekend.
Wesley Fish was arrested on charges of felonious pointing of a firearm, making terroristic threats, domestic assault & battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Cherokee Co. Undersheriff Jason Chennault said deputies answered a call at Cookson State Park of a man holding a woman in a stranglehold with a gun to her head.
Before deputies arrived, the man and woman, later identified as Fish and his wife, left in different vehicles, Chennault said.
Fish was stopped outside the park and taken into custody.
According to jail officials, Fish was booked into jail around 10:40 p.m. Sunday.
He posted his $35,000 bond and was released on Tuesday.
Beggs is located in Okmulgee County.
