Drillers Ready For The Playoffs

Posted: Updated:

It seems like it's been a long time since the Tulsa Drillers won the first half of the Texas League back in June.  That got them into the playoffs and those playoffs

start Wednesday.

It's easy for a first half champ to take the second half off and not play as hard.  But Tulsa heads into their opening round match-up with Arkansas on a four-game winning streak and riding a lot of momentum.

"It was kind of difficult through the second half knowing we were in the playoffs to keep these guys motivated.  Keep them going and in the right direction." Drillers Manager Kevin Riggs said, "I feel we accomplished that. Certainly the last four games, to win those ball games and the way we did, we're definitely excited.  The kids are confident and we're going to show up tomorrow and give it our all."

The Drillers and the Travelers face off in game one Wednesday night at 7:05.  Game two is Thursday in Tulsa and then the series moves to Little Rock for games 3 & 4 on Friday and  Saturday.
