Cody Green Is Tulsa's Best Option At Quarterback

Posted: Updated:

University of Tulsa quarterback Cody Green had a lot of success last season for the Golden Hurricane.  He helped them win a Conference USA Championship and a Liberty Bowl title.

His leadership has never been questioned, but his consistency has.

After a poor showing in the season opener against Bowling Green last week, fans and the media question whether or not he's improved from last season.

Coach Bill Blankenship explains why he's sticking with #7.  "For as long as I've been involved in coaching football. And trust me when I say this I used to be this guy.  One of the most popular guys is the back up quarterback.  It's always the case.  I really believe Dane Evans is going to be a great quarterback.  There is no question.  But right now Cody Green is the best quarterback option we have for leading this team.  And that's based on being in practice and in meetings everyday."

Green, Blankenship and the rest of the Golden Hurricane will try to bounce back this Saturday against Colorado State.  TU and the Rams kickoff at 6:00pm at Chapman Stadium.
