Drillers Enter Playoffs With Momentum

Posted: Updated:

The Tulsa Drillers are making their second straight appearance in the Texas League Playoffs Wednesday.  They're looking for their first title since 1998.

However, the odds are probably against the first half champs.  Tulsa has been up and down all season and they have a losing record this year against first-round opponent Arkansas.

But Drillers Manager Kevin Riggs says ending the regular season on a four-game winning streak is huge.

"You certainly don't want to limp into these playoffs and stumble in here if you lose a few games. said Riggs, "We've regained a little confidence, some swag where we know we can compete.  Obviously knowing the second half champion Arkansas and how much we've played them and battled them.  There's going to be no secrets we know each other extremely well.  The team that plays the best will win the series.

The series gets underway Wednesday night at 7:05pm in Tulsa's ONEOK Field.  Game two will be Thursday in Tulsa before moving to Little Rock on Friday and Saturday.
